Being raised on the Canadian prairies, I did not have an opportunity to enjoy the sea until we visited relatives in Aberdeen, Scotland. That was wayyyy back in 1966. I am not laughing (too hard) as I had a similar experience...except I slip off the road in icy conditions in Northern Alberta.
