This one is true.
My dog had a problem, relating to the abuse she suffered before I acquired her. If frightened during the night she would pee on the floor. Therefore I used to take the precaution of laying a disposable baby changing mat (Pampers Care Mat)on the kitchen floor at night, in case of accidents.
I would normally purchase these changing mats from Tesco, but on one occasion they had sold out, so I proceeded round the corner to Mothercare.
When I got to the counter with my pack of 12 Care Mats, the girl at the till announced brightly that there was an offer on nappies (diapers). "No thanks," I replied, "these are for my dog".
Girl On Till then looked at me pityingly, obviously assuming I was some kind of childless nutter with a dog as a substitute.
I can never venture into Mothercare again.
